Job Description and Responsibilities:

WUSA-TV, the TEGNA owned CBS affiliate in Washington, DC seeks a talented individual for our 2017 Summer Technology Intern Program

Responsibilities of the Technology Intern include :

  • Assists Technology team with specific tasks as directed to ensure availability and operation of the computer network, servers, work stations, mobile devices and associated equipment;
  • Works with IT team on troubleshooting, updating, maintaining and repairing desktop and laptop computers;
  • Under the direction of the IT staff, observes, participates, and assists with installation, configuration and integration of computer systems including broadcast equipment;
  • Helps staff in triaging and assisting end-users with desktop and mobile device issues.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Degree-seeking student currently enrolled at a college or university; preference is for juniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who will be rising seniors during their internship summer
  • Strong basic computer skills and knowledge of desktop PC based systems and mobile devices
  • Must possess excellent communication and organization skills, professional demeanor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with dynamically changing priorities 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience working independently and relying upon judgement in carrying out responsibilities
  • Technical ability to work in a mukti-platform environment
  • Some familiarity with standard office, editing or television production systems and environments
