Position Summary

Supports other staff by performing task oriented duties while providing clerical, analytical, administrative, and operational support under general supervision. This position works in collaboration with the Program Manager of Student Life Programs for Lone Star College, which includes student activities, student-oriented campus events, community service, and sports club programs.

Job Functions

1. Has developed specialized skills through job-related training and substantial on-the-job experience.
2. Will assist with planning and execution of student life activities.
3. Promotes student involvement and publicizes events and student life programs
(print, electronic, and social media).
4. Oversees the student lounge activities and space.
5. Serves as secondary supervisor to part-time staff and staff directly reporting to Program Manager of Student Life.
6. Conducts leadership development activities for students.
7. Responsible for assisting with and/or taking lead for a variety of event planning.
8. Develops, maintains, and monitors records of budget expenditures for all Student funded areas, including Recreational Sports and student organizations; coordinates departmental purchases with Student Life, Recreational Sports, and Student Organizations; assists with the budget building process.
9. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  •  High School Diploma and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


  •  Associates Degree.

  •  Strong attention to detail.
  •  Ability to use software products.
  •  Must be able to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  •  Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demands.
  •  Ability to work on multiple projects.
  •  Ability to document expenses.


Hiring Salary is $27,994.

Work Schedule & Conditions

PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.

Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.

Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
